Sebastiano Bianco started working in the entertainment industry as a theatre actor and director in the 1990’s. He has collaborated with famous Italian artists and has toured extensively in Italy and abroad. In television, he has worked for over 10 years as director, screen writer and art director for some of the leading broadcasting companies in Italy, as well as important collaborations in advertising with major Italian and international brands. His passion for visual arts has compelled him to create projects in which digital photography is used to re-invent the concept of “portrait”, one of the earliest forms of representation, which in 1681 art historian Filippo Baldinucci defined as a “figure drawn from reality”.  A portrait is not merely a mechanical reproduction of a human subject, as it is the artist’s own vision and interpretation of the subject, through the lens of the artist’s sensitivity and his time.

Un ritratto non è solo una riproduzione meccanica delle fattezze di un soggetto umano, ma la visione e l’interpretazione del soggetto attraverso la sensibilità dell’artista e del suo tempo.
